Community Garden
Green Venture is always looking for community members to take part in the planting, maintenance, and harvesting of the community garden.
This is a communal garden where the space is shared equally among the participants who donate enough funds for seeds and plants for the season.
Volunteers will learn about organic gardening techniques and take home fresh vegetables, fruits, fresh flowers and herbs. Become a Volunteer Community Gardener today!
Extra food never goes to waste
During each growing season over 100 pounds of fresh organic food is donated to local emergency food services.
In the past, Green Venture staff delivered bushels of fresh food to Wesley Urban Ministries and in 2007 Neighbour to Neighbour (Hamilton) Food bank and Resource Center made monthly visits to the community garden to pick-up boxes of veggies and herbs.
